About Bruno…
Hey there. My name is Caroline and I am Bruno’s dog guardian. I adopted him from overseas in April 2022 when he was approximately 15 months old. He spent the whole first year of his life in kennels, located in rural Italy, and arrived in the UK completely under-socialised and ill-prepared for his new life with me in West London.
The last year has been a challenge for both of us, as he’s got to grips with his new environment, and I’ve come to terms with what it really means to own a fear-reactive dog, who is scared of other dogs, humans and… pretty much everything, to be honest.
Over the past 12 months, I’ve worked with a dog trainer, a behaviourist, binged-watched hours and hours of TikTok dog-training videos, read countless books about dog psychology and behaviour, and spent god knows how much on high-value treats.
All in the name of getting Bruno to move through the world with less fear and greater ease. My aim is to help him become a happier, more confident, and self-assured dog, and - while we’ve made great strides in all these areas to-date - there is still so much more for us to do.
The purpose of this blog is to document his training and rehabilitation journey, while also sharing some of my own musings about the crazy world of canine behaviour.
